School policies cover every aspect of school life, they guide and describe the main functions and processes of the school.
Our policies are regularly reviewed and updated to reflect changes in legislation, compliance and duty of care requirements as well as growth and evolution of the school.
The development and review of policies is part of an agreed process to ensure that key stakeholders are part of the consultation and review process.

Public Sector Equality Duty
Sheerness West Federation aims to meet its obligations under the Public Sector Equality Duty (PSED) by having due regard to the need to:
- Eliminate discrimination and other conduct that is prohibited by the Equality Act 2010
- Fostering good relationships
- Advance equality of opportunity
We will not discriminate against, harass or victimize any pupil, prospective pupil, or other member of the school community because of their:
- Religion of Belief
- Sexual Orientation
- Gender Reassignment
- Pregnancy or Maternity
- Marriage or Civil Partnership
We aim to promote pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development, with special emphasis on equality and diversity, and eradicating prejudicial incidents for pupils and staff. Our federation is committed to not only eliminating discrimination, but also increasing understanding and appreciation for diversity.
