Fireman visit

A few weeks ago the children decided they would like the local Fire Brigade to visit them so together with the help of Mrs Kennedy they wrote a letter to them then we all went to the post box to post it.

They gave us a call and Miss Belcher organised for them to come to our school with their shiny red fire engine on Wednesday 21st June.

We had so much fun looking at all of the special equipment they have to use, we sat in the fire engine, tried on some of the special clothes they have to wear to keep them safe, heard the VERY LOUD siren and had a go at squirting the hose.

We would like to say a BIG THANK YOU to them for taking time out of their busy day to visit us.

A trip to The Fleet

On Monday we went for a walk to The Fleet. We had so much fun. Before we went we made a list of things we might see then we got on our coats and wellington boots and headed off.

We were so lucky when we were there. We saw a Heron, we heard a frog and then we saw lots of Moorhen’s and their tiny fluffy chicks and then mummy and daddy ducks and all their ducklings having a race on the water. The were very cute.

We are now making lots of things to put on a display about our trip to The Fleet.

Our new home

We have had a very busy term moving into our brand new Nursery but we are finally in and almost settled. We have had lots of fun exploring the inside and outside area and our teachers have been working really hard to make everything fun, bright and educational for us and we love it.

This term we have been reading lots of stories and doing some fun activities to go with the story. Our two favourite books have been The Mole who knew it was none of his business which has struck up many ‘pooh’ conversations and then we had Superworm which we all nearly know off by heart.

We had a visit from a lady who let us play on African drums. We made so much noise and had lots of fun banging out rhythms and beats.

During PE we have been practicing balancing, jumping off of small benches, throwing, catching, kicking, javelin and throwing balls into nets. We get very hot and sweaty but we are all doing really well.

If anyone has any old but useable Little Tykes type of cars they no longer use they would be gratefully received.

End of Term 1

The Nursery children have had a fantastic first term and have all settled in well. They are beginning to build up good relationships with the Nursery staff and some lovely friendships are forming.

They have had fun in music lessons with Mr Walker and they all love PE on a Friday moving in lots of different ways which I am sure have been demonstrated at home.

This Term the children have been learning about Shapes, Colours and Themselves. They have carried out various activities such as self portraits, shape printing and exploring numbers. They even made a poster about themselves with a picture of them as a baby and adding on the things that they like.

Thank you for an enjoyable first term and have lots of fun during half term!

Welcome To Nursery

What an exciting few weeks we’ve had already!

All the children have settled in well and are enjoying exploring our new Nursery.  We are nearly there and have been busy setting up our inside and outside areas to make them exciting places to play and learn.

This term we have been learning about ‘Ourselves’ – about our families; painting self portraits and learning the names of our facial features. We are now learning about colours and will be moving onto shapes.

We are looking forward to a fantastic term with the children.
