Dear Parents and Carers,
Having been a governor at The Sheerness West Federation for just over 12 months I was very proud, recently, to be both nominated for and appointed to the role of Chair of Governors. The role is designed to support the senior leadership team of our schools but also to ensure that they are sufficiently challenged and held accountable for their performance. I take these duties very seriously and will dedicate as much of my time to them as I am able.
I have worked in the education sector for nearly 12 years now as a recruitment specialist and employability tutor. I work with a range of schools across Swale, and Kent to recruit specialist education staff and working with Y11 and Y13 students to prepare them for the world of work. This experience gives me a unique insight into the education world and means that I have a range of skills to offer the Sheerness West Federation as Chair of Governors.
I am supported by a fantastic team of dedicated and enthusiastic governors from different walks of life. As a team we are committed to the same goals and share the same ambitions as the staff, students and leaders of our schools. The years ahead will be exciting, challenging but exciting. We strive to improve on what has already been a fantastic year for The Sheerness West Federation and our goal is to oversee two Ofsted graded Outstanding schools in the near future. From myself, and my fellow governors we look forward to working with every member of staff, parent and carer connected to the federation.
