Please come back and check this page regularly as we will be posting all our latest sporting news!
Welcome back everybody! At the moment although there isn’t much news to tell you all about there are a couple of changes!
Firstly the PE team has changed slightly this year, Mr McKenzie will now be the PE teacher at Rose Street with Miss Harrell while Miss Simpson will be the PE teacher at West Minster. We are both looking forward to working across both schools again and hope we can have another great year of sport for the federation.
Secondly at the current time there will be no, swimming lessons, inter / intra competitions or after school sports clubs. This is due to the fact that at the moment our focus is on getting all the children back into school safely. Once this has been successful and it is safe to do so competitive sport and after school sports clubs will return to the school. Also once this has been successful we will begin to look at the return on swimming lessons.
PE will be starting again this week.
Year 1 and Year 2 – Snapdragon, Bluebell, Violet, Daisy, Clover and Snowdrop – Tuesday
Year 3 and Year 4 – Rose, Lavender, Orchid, Iris, Foxgloves and Primrose – Wednesday
Year 5 and Year 6 – Sunflower and Tulip – Monday
Year 5 and Year 6 – Poppy and Lily – Thursday
Nursery and Reception will let you know their days at a later date after transition
On the day your child has PE they will need to attend school in appropriate school PE kit for the whole day therefore not getting changed at school. PE will be outside, so their kit needs to be suitable to be worn outside, with our maroon West Minster school jumper or cardigan worn over their PE shirt on that day.
New Home Challenge Up and Running!!
This year the PE team thought it would be a nice idea to set a home challenge each term. This year more than ever has shown us the importance of family and making the most of our time with the ones we love. It has also highlighted the importance of staying fit at home.
The home challenge is not compulsory but is designed to be something which you could perform at home with people in your house. You could win some dojo points. The more people you get involved the more points you could win!
This terms challenge is on our competition page so make sure you check it regularly each term to see the new challenge. Juts in case you haven’t seen it, this terms challenge is;
Balance the strangest thing somewhere on your body or perform a balance in the strangest place.
