Term 2

What a busy term coming up!

The children have made a fantastic start to the term with their learning – in numeracy we are focusing on developing our skills to calculate fractions and expanding our understanding of shape and space. As always we continue to develop their reasoning skills daily. A way to support this at home could be to set a number challenge for the week based on what they are learning at the time at school. Homework sent home weekly will give you and the children ideas if you would like to try creating your own number challenges.

In Topic we are continuing with ‘Keep Calm and Carry On’ and studying the relationships between the allied forces and axis, the reasons why it is called a ‘world’ war and the significance of Armistice Day.

The Chronicles of Narnia continues in our Literacy lesson with activities ranging from newspaper and incident reports to descriptions of  characters and book reviews. This continues also into our work with SNAP Theatre. The children have been working diligently and had immense fun developing aspects of drama, dance and music with Andy and his team. We do hope that you will joining us to watch their performance here at the school at 2pm on the 23rd November.
