Our Reception day runs parallel to the rest of the school, beginning at 8.35am, and ending at 3.10pm. The Nursery day is split into 3 sessions; the first is from 9 am until 11.30am, and the second begins at 12.15 and ends at 3.10pm and the third (all day session) is from 9.00am until 3.10pm. We can also offer an early bird option for children to start at 8.30, for an additional £1 per day.

Reception consists of 2 classes – Periwinkle and Sweetpea. Our timetable is the same Monday-Thursday, and on a Friday we have Music and PE.

A typical day in Early Years includes:

  • Early Morning Activities and Register.
  • Little Wandle (Federation Phonics Programme)
  • Whole class input and Teacher Directed Activities (dependent on children's interests).
  • Snack
  • Child Initiated (free flow between classes and outside)
  • Lunch
  • Guided Reading
  • Child Initiated (free flow between classes and outside).
  • Maths session, story-time and home.

Our children are heavily involved in our planning, allowing them to take ownership and thus promote a love of learning. They are able to explore in any of our thriving classrooms during child initiated, and our outside area is open all year round.
