  • No Pen Day

Mon 01 Jun 2026 Mrs Handy

On Wednesday it was NO PENS DAY and in Year 1 we were very creative, we acted out the story of Little Lord Feather Frock in Literacy and we practically found a quarter of a quantity in maths.

In Year 2 on “No pens day” we took the opportunity to learn about the work of
Jackson Pollock. He created some amazing art using unusual techniques and so did we. Please ask us how we created our art work!

Year 3 for ‘No Pen day’, using pasta to communicate in morse code, having a cup
stacking competition and playing the 'yes, no' game. The children were thrilled at the idea of no writing for the day!

Year 4 really enjoyed our ‘No Pen Day’ activities. During our times tables challenge, we worked with partners to chant multiplication facts and quickly find the answers. We also used our communication skills when classifying animals into different groups.

Year 5 for No Pen Day, the children investigated the features of Viking longships before designing and creating their own models out of cardboard. They were delighted with their finished products and should be very proud of their creativity
    and teamwork!
