  • Year 1 Learning memories

    Some learning memories from this week! We have been very busy, we looked at hot and cold areas of the world using atlases. We have read sentences in out phonics using the new sounds we have learnt. In maths we have been working with numbers up to 20, ordering, estimating and comparing them. In science we sorted materials according to their properties and in Computing we are learning how programming works.

    In Music, the children have been creating their own beats and experimenting with rhythm and playing some tunes on the Glockenspiels.

  • Year R Gingerbread Man

    In Reception, this week they have been looking at the story ‘The Gingerbread Man’. They have cooked their own gingerbread, written their own instructions and ingredients list, counted the buttons on the gingerbread men and added them together and built bridges for the gingerbread man to cross the river.

    Staff Pantomime Fun – Peter Pan!

    Our talented staff took to the stage for a spectacular performance of Peter Pan, bringing magic, laughter, and a touch of mischief to the school!

    From Peter and Tinkerbell to Captain Hook and his hapless crew, our staff had everyone cheering, laughing, and joining in the fun. Audience participation was in full swing, and it was wonderful to see the school community enjoying this festive treat together.

    A huge thank you to everyone who performed, helped behind the scenes, and came along to support – you really made this a show to remember!

    🎄 KS1 Christmas Concert 🎄

    Our Key Stage 1 children put on a fantastic Christmas concert this week! They sang beautifully, showed off their amazing performance skills, and really got everyone into the festive spirit. 🌟

    We are so proud of all the children for their confidence, enthusiasm, and effort – what a wonderful way to celebrate the season!

    Christingles Across the School

    This term, our school has been filled with festive spirit as every class created their own Christingles. Each pupil carefully decorated their orange with a red ribbon, sweets, and a candle, learning about the symbolism behind this special tradition.

    It was wonderful to see the children’s creativity and care, and the Christingles brought a sense of joy and togetherness to all our classrooms. We are very proud of our pupils for their thoughtful participation in this festive project.

    EYFS Wiggly Nativity

    Our EYFS children had a fantastic time performing their Wiggly Nativity! With lots of singing, actions and big smiles, they shared the Christmas story in a fun and lively way.

    It was a lovely performance and we’re so proud of how confident and enthusiastic the children were.

    Rock Steady Concert

    Our Rock Steady band put on a brilliant concert, showing off everything they’ve been learning this term. The children performed with confidence, energy and lots of enthusiasm, and it was great to see them enjoying being on stage together.

    Well done to everyone involved — a fantastic performance!

    🎄 Christmas Dinner & Christmas Jumper Day 🎄

    Our Christmas Dinner and Christmas Jumper Day was a great success. Everyone enjoyed a festive meal, lots of laughter, and an impressive range of Christmas jumpers that really got us into the Christmas spirit.

  • Christmas has come to reception

    This week we have been reading the story ‘Mince Spies’.

    We wrote secret messages, made spy equipment to use in our classroom and played ‘what’s in the box’ where we had to give clues to our friends to see if they could guess what was inside the box.

    Sweetpeas and daffodils also decorated our Christmas tree and met our Elf Sid!
