World Book Day
Fri 28 Feb 2025On Monday 3rd March, the school will be celebrating World Book Day.
Our NURSERY & RECEPTION children will be having a PYJAMA & HOT CHOCOLATE DAY!
The children can come into school dressed in their pjamas and bring along a soft toy. During the course of the day they will have a story-telling session and be offered a mug of hot-chocolate if they want one.
Each Nursery & Reception child will receive a free fairy tale book.
YEAR ONE through to YEAR SIX, are invited to come into school dressed as a story book character or an author.
The best dressed child from each class will receive a book prize.
All children will have the chance to take part in a sponsored read (details will be given out nearer the time).
There will also be a book swap going on all week: the children can bring into school ONE book they no longer want, and swap it for another in the book swap shop in the library. PLEASE NOTE: books that are brought in from home need to be in a good readable condition.
Each child will also receive a £1 World Book Day Token: these can be redeemed at most well-known book shops & supermarkets.
No donation is necessary for taking part in the World Book Day celebrations, but donations of books for the school library are always gratefully received.
HAPPY READING!
